Abstract

Often, quality and safety are considered separate disciplines and are managed separately in an organization. This should not be. There is a strong correlation between quality and safety, so both disciplines should be handled by the quality function. Organizational culture is key to reducing quality defects and safety incidents and is not frequently given the attention it deserves. The authors provide tips for ensuring a robust quality and safety culture.
