Abstract

There are advantages and disadvantages to categorizing ISO standards. The ISO Technical Management Board established the Joint Technical Coordination Group (JTCG) on Management System Standards (MSS) in 2006 to develop a structured approach for MSSs. JTCG established the harmonized structure for MSSs for identical clause numbers with the same sequence, clause title, text, common terms and core definitions for increased compatibility. These are the advantages and disadvantages of the harmonized structure.
