Abstract
Organizational silos are a serious internal risk that can hamper business activities and operations, and eventually, hurt the customer experience. Some organizations have serious issues with silos, while others don’t. To be proactive and prevent silos, or break down those that may exist, a risk management strategy can be formulated and implemented. But this may lead to resistance to change, which, in turn, can form new silos or inadvertently encourage continued silo behavior. The author offers several actions for strong leaders to take to mitigate or eliminate the risk of silos when implementing a risk management strategy and related risk treatment activities.
