Abstract

Businesses are at a tipping point in which they can no longer be profitable without understanding how environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives affect the customer pipeline, cost of goods and the bottom line of businesses. The impact may not be articulated explicitly in ESG measures, but the underpinning of ethical sourcing of materials and treatment of persons makes for better business. While we may need to wait for consistent measurement and reporting standards, there are steps that quality professionals can take to start making progress today.
