Abstract
As pressure continues to mount for organizations to improve their environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, heavy industry sectors bear a great responsibility to support initiatives such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving carbon neutrality. The author discusses ways to reduce energy consumption in equipment asset-dependent industries. He also defines the plant reliability engineer’s role in targeting parasitic frictional loss, fugitive emission loss and electrical heating loss.
