Abstract

The quality field has undergone many changes during its history, and the latest change is the transition from Quality 3.0—which emphasizes conforming to requirements, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and standardization—to Quality 4.0, which emphasizes digitalization, designing quality into systems, autonomous machines, and designing and integrating systems within the business’s overall system. The transition to Quality 4.0 is ongoing and brings new opportunities and risks to industry.
