Abstract
When an effective model is not used to facilitate change, 15 scenarios of waste may result. While some models used for assessment are better than others, the important thing to consider is that the change initiative be based on the assessment's findings and followed in its entirety to ensure efficiency. Fifteen components to consider in developing a change model are explained, followed by a description of the 15 scenarios of waste that can result when a component is left out. Elimination of the 15 scenarios of waste helps establish the unity of purpose in the organization and sends the message to employees that waste will no longer be tolerated. This change process model demonstrates the necessary steps and baseline elements essential for creating, implementing, and maintaining intentional change initiatives. A sidebar article lists the 15 components in developing and effective change model.
