Harris Hoke, senior quality engineer, Anadigics Inc. 

Harris Hoke is a senior quality engineer and senior member of the principle technical staff at Anadigics Inc. in Warren, NJ. He has a doctorate degree in physics, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt through ASQ, AlliedSignal and Honeywell, and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt through Quest Diagnostics. He’s been a member of ASQ for four years.

What do you think is most important in implementing a Six Sigma project? 

Champion buy-in to improve.

Why do you think Six Sigma is important?

It is a standard effective platform through which to implement continuous improvement.

Why do you think quality is important? 

To keep the customer happy, eliminate waste and derive the secondary benefits from these primary benefits.

What’s your favorite benefit of quality? 

Customer satisfaction.

Why did you choose to go into the quality field? 

My personality, skills and background works well in quality organizations.

What’s your best advice to someone new to quality? 

If you are not doing or improving something that a customer or other employees notice, then you are not doing your job.
