I work as a senior supplier quality engineer for a medical device company. I do supplier development work, process improvements, supplier audits and component qualifications.

Master’s degree in quality systems management and Six Sigma Black Belt.

What do you think is most important in implementing a Six Sigma project?
Upper management support.
Why do you think Six Sigma is important?
It removes variation in a process, which can lead to reduced overall quality.
Why do you think quality is important?
Quality is important as it helps a product or service to perform to original design intent. It also provides customer confidence in regards to product safety.
What’s your favorite benefit of quality?
Increased sales and market share.
Why did you choose to go into the quality field?
I like the satisfaction of correcting problems.
What’s your best advice to someone new to quality?
Work in all areas of the quality field and gain as much experience as possible.
