How Audits Support Supply-Chain Management

Abstract: After a review of the general model for all operational audits, Dennis Arter will address the question of which suppliers should be part of the auditing program. Most of the hour’s presentation will cover the four building blocks of supply-chain management: know what you want, identify a supplier, place the order, and monitor performance. In each area, Dennis will discuss the positive contributions that an audit can offer. The overall goal is to improve the performance of both parties: customer and supplier. Presenter: Dennis Arter is an ASQ Fellow, Certified Quality Auditor, and recipient of the ASQ Distinguished Service Medal. He is closing out his 40-year career in quality, as an expert in the field of auditing. His books and teaching have enriched the lives of fellow professionals around the world.
