Team Excellence Award Competition Updates

Team Entries Close December 12, 2003
Teams of all organizational types are invited to submit 25-minute videos that will be evaluated as part of AQP’s Team Excellence Award Competition. The complete criteria are available at .

Preliminary evaluation will take place in January and February in six sites across the country. All participating teams will receive a feedback report and score sheet, detailing how they were rated in each criteria area. At that point, qualifying teams will be invited to be part of the live competition held in conjunction with ASQ’S Annual Quality Congress in Toronto, Canada, May 24-26, 2004.

The video includes the announcement of the gold, silver, and bronze team award recipients and their live presentations. ASQ Notes

ASQ Takes Part in the Fifth Global Forum on Reinventing Government
ASQ, along with organizations such as Harvard University and the British Broadcasting Corp., participated in keynote activities at the Fifth Global Forum on Reinventing Government. Tom Mosgaller, ASQ past president, presented a keynote address, “Quality Best Practices in Government,” taken from a report compiled by ASQ.

ASQ Member Model—Creating a Living Community Model
The ASQ board of directors has authorized development of a new member model. This model will be designed to support ASQ’s vision to become “the community of choice for everyone in the world who seeks quality technology, concepts, or tools to improve themselves and their community.” The model is to be flexible, fluid, and defined by each member.

The model will be based on 10 design principles and five key concepts that were approved by the board of directors in May 2003. Comments should be sent to .
