Applied Poisson Rate Analysis – Mini Paper Appearing in Summer 1989 Newsletter

Abstract: This paper shows a real-life application of “Comparison of Poisson Means” hypothesis test which was developed by Lloyd Nelson and published in 1987 in the Journal of Quality Technology. When more than two groups are compared, a Chi-squared test is employed where the relationships of Poisson means are expressed as ratios. The test is applied to a video tape duplication process involving several thousand video tape duplicators, and the results are presented.
