A Holistic Approach to the Design of Experiments – Part 1 – Mini Paper Taken from the Spring 1993 Newsletter

Abstract: Part I of this paper introduces the design of experiments for the development and improvement of products and processes in a holistic manner. Instead of presenting the design of experiments in isolation from other needed activities, this paper follows the holistic approach by first showing where experiments fit in the overall scheme of developing and improving processes or products. Then, to help novices execute experiments, a step-by-step guide for planning and analyzing experiments is given.
