Cpk – An Application of Individuals Control Charts – Tutorial Taken from the Spring 1999 Newsletter

Abstract: Process capability indices are point estimates obtained by taking samples from a population, and as such they have associated errors of sample size and other related limitations and constraints. It is shown that these point estimates can be highly variable. Cpk estimates can be better understood by plotting them over time on control charts. An example is provided.
