These observations are valid and the rationale clear. The scope, however, seems too restricted for ASQ. If we are to advance the cause of quality, then we must transform organizations, perhaps one practice at a time but transformation nonetheless. Demings 14 points do not call for limiting us to "the context of system project success." If an agile perspective improves our "profound knowledge" of software engineering then we are committed, as quality professionals, to share that perspective beyond such a context in the goal of organizational transformation.
