T and F Tests
Abstract: This spreadsheet performs a two sample t test and F test at 95% confidence to look for statistical differences between two groups of data. The F test evaluates the variance of the two data sets. The t test evaluates the average (or mean) of the two data sets. The t test calculation is dependent on the results of the F test. If there is a statistical difference in the variation between the two groups, a two sample t test assuming unequal variance is performed. If a difference in the variation cannot be shown, a two sample t test assuming equal variance is performed. The test results are displayed in plain english.
