Case Study - A Plan for the Master Plan
Six Sigma Forum Magazine vol. 9 issue 1 - November 2009
Abstract: A project master plan in serial development is vital to determine which subprocess needs to be executed in a particular development phase. The question remains, however, as to how to determine which preventative quality process is the most cost effective and should be the focus of the master plan. A case study conducted at an automotive industry supplier describes how a Six Sigma approach was selected and an improvement project was initiated. The study showed how DMAIC was used to improve selection of preventative quality processes in serial development projects. Based on the cost savings of individual processes, the master plan was revised.
