American Society for Quality

Mansfield Section 0811

Hello again,

Im a little late again sending this months newsletter out. I apologize for the later than usual meeting notice. Well as you probably remember, our February Minitab meeting was canceled due to weather. We are trying to reschedule them for later in 2010. But for now, we need to focus on March Madness. That means melting snow, college basketball, and an excellent Mansfield ASQ dinner meeting. The worst of winter is behind us. So come on out and join your fellow quality colleagues for a fine evening of food, friends, and a quality discussion on .. yes. FOOD. Weve booked the Mansfield Madison Culinary program to serve us in their own restaurant named The Ramble Inn. Our past two years meetings at the Ramble Inn proved to be excellent all around. So give Kenny a call or email and reserve your seat for a dining experience and fine discussion led by our very own Caryn Simmons (see Caryns bio below) Reservations are due next week by Tuesday night. So dont delay. ( and youll have to pick which meat you want )

Also for the March meeting, we will have another book Give-Away for two lucky attendees.

Best regards and stay warm,

Joe Hildebrand
Mansfield ASQ Internet Liaison & Placement Chair

p.s. our monthly meetings are a relatively inexpensive way to earn .3 rus toward ASQ recertification

2.) Chairman's Corner :

Our local Mansfield ASQ section, as do all sections, runs on the backs of its volunteers. Without the volunteers, this Society couldn't exist. Come the April meeting, we must elect officers again. I have reached my term limit and so has our treasurer, Tom. Our auditor, Ellie, would like to enjoy herself a little and would like to step down, as well.

Therefore, there are at least three positions that our Mansfield members should consider replacing in the coming elections for the 2010-2011 season. Hameem is the chair for the nomination committee.

I have received word from ASQ headquarters that they have changed the date for reporting the election of officers and the appointment of three chair's. It is now May 15, vice May 30th for officers and June 30th for appointees. The three elected officers consist of the section chairperson, secretary, and treasurer. The three appointees, which will be due May 15th this year, are the Nomination Chair, Membership Chair, and Auditing Chair.

Region 8 leadership has also notified me that they would like a Voice of the Customer (VOC) Chair reported at the same time. I have been acting as the VOC chair for the past couple of years.

Please consider filling one of these positions for the next year. These positions are worth 1.5 rus per year. So for those of you with ASQ ( or other ) certifications, you should keep that in mind.

Hope to see you at the March meeting at Mansfield Madison High School on the 11th. It should be a good one. Dont miss out.

Yours in quality,
Homer Blood hart.
