Operations

Section meetings are held once a month, September through June. A typical evening�s program starts with a technically oriented pre-meeting clinic, followed by a social/networking period, then dinner, and concludes with the main program. Meetings start at 5:30 p.m., end around 8:30 p.m., and include a short business meeting. As an alternative we tour a local business with the purpose of see how they deal with Quality issues. Each year the Section includes at least one meeting with another professional group such as APICS, ASNT, SME or SWE. In addition, some meetings are held with other ASQ sections. These joint meetings help us learn from each other and spread the quality philosophy. These meetings are popular and demonstrate how well we are all working toward the same objectives.

In June of each year we normally hold a non-technical meeting at which we present a $500.00 college scholarship to a deserving student from the local area.

The student is sponsored by a Section member and must use the moneys for furthering his or her education.
