A Helping Hand
Staying connected in challenging times
I’m writing to you from my nomadic home office as we wrap up our first QP issue completed entirely online.
So much has changed—and in such a short period of time. We know you’re dealing with and adapting to so many changes and challenges, too. Our commitment is to remain a steady presence as you navigate this new, changed world. We want you to be able to turn to your ASQ community for support. So we’ve come together to assemble some new and innovative offerings to help you through this.
- To aid you in your reading, research and general information needs, we have opened up several of our journals that previously required a separate subscription. Right now, professional members and above can access popular journals including Quality Engineering, Lean and Six Sigma Review, Software Quality Professional and the Journal of Quality and Participation—in addition to the journals that are already available to ASQ members. Visit asq.org/pub.
- Because ASQ’s World Conference for Quality and Improvement (WCQI) was cancelled due to the new coronavirus, we instead are offering members a virtual conference experience. The event will be held on May 6, and will feature many of the speakers and programming that had been scheduled for our in-person event.
- Looking for a good read? For all of May, special WCQI prices (the lowest of the year) also are available for Quality Press books. Use the code “MAY2020” for close to 40% off most titles.
- If you feel isolated (like I do—even with my noisy family around), don’t forget you’re not alone. my.ASQ.org can be the place to partake in the professional networking you’re craving and communicate with others sharing the same experiences.
Finally, on a bright note, the December 2019 issue of QP (asq.org/qualityprogress/tools-resources/SalarySurvey/index.htm) received a Platinum designation in the Hermes Creative Awards for feature design. Congrats to my awesome creative and editorial team!
