MB Dynamics has released the Model CAL25HF high-frequency electrodynamic air bearing vibration exciter. The Model CAL25HF offers an operating bandwidth of 3 Hz to 20 kHz. It is available as a stand-alone unit or as part of a larger automated calibration test system.
Typical applications for the Model CAL25HF include high-volume accelerometer calibrations, sensor manufacturing quality assurance testing and in-lab R&D instrumentation verifications. Units are designed to accurately calibrate accelerometers and vibration sensors with diameters of up to 70 mm and weights of up to 910 g.

Sensor operates in hostile environments
NewTek Sensor Solutions has introduced the HT-1000 series of extreme high-temperature linear position sensors for applications in the rugged environments of industrial equipment such as those found in power plants, engine control systems and autoclaves. The sensors are constructed of high-temperature materials to withstand temperatures up to 1,000°F.
The HT-1000 series provides a ratiometric output for reduced thermal error that results in an extremely low thermal sensitivity over a wide temperature range.
Position sensors feature a through-bore design that makes the core accessible from both ends for core guidance and clean-out in dusty or dirty locations.
In addition to offering a choice of imperial or metric threaded core, the organization specifies custom models to fit specific requirements.

Wireless technology speeds measuring throughput

Starrett Co. has introduced two new Bluetooth-enabled series of electronic digital bore gages with a range of accuracy and convenience features for increasing measurement throughput when inspecting internal hole dimensions. The 781BXT AccuBore Electronic Bore Gages are a trigger-operated gaging system, and the 770BXT Electronic Bore Gages, operated via thimble rotation, feature IP67 protection against dirt and coolant, making them ideal in harsh machining environments.
Bluetooth wireless technology in both bore gage series enables fast, robust measurement data acquisition capabilities without the encumbrances and limitations of cables. Wireless technology also provides an ideal platform for manufacturers bracing to meet the comprehensive big data requirements.

Light manager can operate four lights
Smart Vision Lights has announced its programmable LED Light Manager (LLM) and associated light kits. The LLM can drive up to four separate lights of virtually any type or up to four individual quadrants or channels in an integrated photometric or multispectral ring light solution. Each program can contain up to four sequences with up to four lights set to continuous on, off, any intensity level in between, and even OverDrive strobe mode.
LLM also is appropriate for multispectral imaging solutions where the LED wavelengths—and not broad-spectrum white lights with optical filters in front of the sensor—are the spectral band selection mechanisms. Using the color of illuminating light as the spectral band selection mechanism can greatly reduce the cost of multispectral imaging solutions, while increasing budgets for imaging applications.

Dual Head Welder
High-strength welding without causing fracturing
Sonobond Ultrasonics’ Dual Head Spot Welder can weld heavy wires up to an 80 sq. mm. cross-sectional area without fracturing the terminal. It achieves a higher-strength weld using lower power than other ultrasonic welders, and a more durable weld than crimp or solder methods.
The ultrasonic metal welders require no external heat, fluxes or fillers and produce no arcs, sparks or flames. Welding occurs by employing the organization’s patented Wedge-Reed ultrasonic bonding system that combines high-vibratory force and low-amplitude coupling. Shear mode vibration is applied parallel to the welding surface, while the line of force is directly over the parts to be welded. This eliminates bending stress and creates consistent, solid-state, highly conductive, metallurgical welds. It also provides the unique ability to weld lightly tinned and oxidized non-ferrous metals without pre-cleaning.
Additionally, the unit has a power supply with a built-in microprocessor, featuring automatic frequency overload protection, and storage and recall of up to 250 protocols. Sonobond’s Dual Head Spot Welder also comes equipped with heat-treated tool steel taper lock tips. They can perform up to 30,000 welds before redressing and as many as 100,000 welds before replacement.

Enhanced performance series
Silicon Designs has enhanced the Model 2220 series of capacitive accelerometers. The Model 2220 series incorporates a MEMS chip, along with high-drive and low-impedance buffering. It is available in seven models, with standard measurement ranges from ±2 g to ±200 g, each with a wide frequency response measuring down to zero hertz. Each accelerometer module is housed in an epoxy-sealed rugged anodized aluminum housing, with mounting via two M3 screws.
The Model 2220 series is ideal for flight testing, aircraft flutter testing, vibration monitoring and analysis, robotics, biomechanics, automotive RLDA, machinery and equipment control, modal analysis, crash testing, and general in-lab applications.
