Mobility Matters

Abstract:Evidence-based medicine supports the practice of encouraging patient mobility as soon as possible. However, many factors can impact the timely implementation of patient mobility, including organization of clinical staff, medical facilities, and required supplies and equipment. Six Sigma was employed in a medical intensive care unit to analyze and identify systemic delays to patient mobility.
