Schurter has expanded its UMT-H series, adding new current ratings 20 A, 25 A and 30 A. The UMT-H fuse ratings compare to traditional cylindrical shaped fuses but in a smaller compact SMD design. The UMT-H is suited for automated assembly, and applications include: power supplies, high-end servers, PC voltage regulators and fans for servers, advance telecommunication computing architecture applications for cloud computing, and battery management systems.
Additionally, the UMT-H is impermeable to conformal coatings. This feature along with a > 10 mm distance between end-caps, and a 1500 A rating up to 6.3 A, makes this compact fuse ideal for intrinsically safe applications according to IEC 60079-11. Such applications include test, measurement and diagnostics equipment in areas of oil and gas, chemical, mining, as well as devices used by first responders.
Metal detection technology
Sesotec’s Intuity is a metal detector that operates with variable-multiple frequencies in parallel. Intuity can inspect packaged and unpackaged products to detect the smallest metal particles in products and ensure product purity with a clean sanitary design.
It is available from Sesotec on the Rapicon and Sanicon conveyor platforms. The Rapicon metal detection system is equipped with the Intuity metal detector. The newly designed Intuity Control user interface is ergonomically positioned.
R&R Fixtures’ Micro V block-wedge stop can be positioned on a plate against locating stops. It is designed to hold the smallest of cylindrical parts.
The Micro V block can be used in conjunction with another micro V block to secure longer parts or used by itself, allowing as much viewing access to a part as possible. It also can be used to hold both ferrous and nonferrous parts.
Krohne has introduced the Optisonic 8300 ultrasonic flowmeter. The two-beam ultrasonic flowmeter is capable of handling high-flow rates of superheated steam, making it ideal for power plant boiler and plant efficiency monitoring, energy balancing and inter-company steam billing.
The Optisonic 8300 features a full bore flow sensor without moving parts or obstructions, and is constructed with no cables or sensitive parts exposed. Verification of the measuring accuracy can be achieved by using the flowmeter diagnostics without removing the flowmeter.
Temperature and pressure sensors connected to the device provide the integrated flow computer with data to calculate steam mass flow, eliminating the need for an additional flow computer. The flowmeter’s wide measurement eliminates the need for a dual range measurement setup, simplifying installation, operation and maintenance.
Inductive proximity sensor
SICK has released the IMF inductive proximity sensor for detection that complies with the demands of the food industry. The IMF inductive proximity sensor’s V4A stainless steel housing and LCP plastic sensing face are approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and the sensor is certified by Ecolab. The IMF is resistant to industrial cleaning agents and extremely watertight, with enclosure ratings of IP 68 and IP 69K.
With an extended sensing range from 2 mm to 20 mm, and high precision due to SICK’s proprietary application specific integrated circuit technology, the IMF inductive proximity sensor ensures reliable and stable processes. Wide specification limits allow the sensor to be used in all areas of food production. Optional communication via IO-Link creates flexibility and adds more functions for automation applications.
The Chromasens’ allPIXA is a charge coupled device trilinear color line scan sensor. It offers scan rates up to 110 kHz, resolutions ranging from 1024 to 7300-pixels, and several sensor length options. The allPIXA’s CameraLink interface was expanded to a maximum data rate of 510 MB per second in order to transmit that amount of data. The result is color objects can now be inspected either at the previous image quality but at a considerably faster rate, or at the same speed but in greater detail.
Ultra-compact dimensions let engineers cascade several, synchronized allPIXA cameras in close proximity for inspecting larger track widths. Its rugged housing is suitable for industrial environments and offers several mounting possibilities. The camera comes equipped with a flexible programmable, digital input/output interface for different signal types, alongside trigger input and output.
