Abstract:There are several books with sections covering project metrics, but few offer specific guidance on selecting the right measurements. By learning from real-life examples, practicing quality professionals — Black Belts (BBs) and Master Black Belts (MBBs) — can understand and select the right metrics for their lean and Six Sigma improvement initiatives. This article discusses the importance of selecting appropriate metrics for such initiatives, and offers guidelines for selecting those metrics. Using those guidelines, Black Belts can select the right metrics and drive improvements in the right direction.
