Skidless surface evaluation system

Mahr Federal has added a skidless surface evaluation system to its line of mobile surface metrology systems. The MarSurf M 400 features a proprietary motorized probe height adjustment that quickly and automatically zeros the probe.

The M 400 includes a magnetic, breakaway probe-mounting system that protects sensitive probes from accidental damage and facilitates fast probe changes. The MarSurf M 400 measures all common international parameters and features Bluetooth connectivity between the measuring system and the evaluation unit with integrated thermal printer.

The measuring unit can be used alone in different orientations, in combination with accessories or mounted on a measuring stand. 

Weigh scale

GWT grid-top, vibratory weigh scale packers from Cleveland Vibrator Company equip production and shipping departments with a solution for filling, weighing, compacting and conveying containers of bulk solids with capacities up to 4,000 lbs. Constructed from mild or stainless steel, these products are an ideal interface to roller conveyors. GWT packers mount below conveyor rollers, allowing bags, drums, trays or other containers to be transported directly onto its grid-top deck.

There is no need for operators to manually move containers with the GWT packer grids designed to raise between conveyor rollers. The GWT packer lifts the container to the appropriate height, runs the selected vibration cycle time and weighs the container throughout the process. GWT packers then lower the filled, compacted container back onto the roller conveyor, enabling it to be moved to the next step as an empty container approaches.

GWT models are available in a range of deck configurations with rotary electric or air-cushioned piston vibrator drives.


ThinkQ has released QMSIT 3, a version of its quality management scheduling and inspection tool software. QMSIT 3 is used to manage quality, enhance efficiency and mitigate risks inherent to service operations by providing real-time visibility, accountability and transparency.

The software is designed for applications involving personnel teams that must perform work in compliance with a defined set of requirements, such as contracts, safety standards or environmental regulations.

ThinkQ has packaged its QMSIT 3 software with online training materials that allow organizations to customize it to their own unique applications.

Adhesive lubricant

CRC’s TAC 2 adhesive chain lubricant bonds to chain and wear surfaces to keep them in operating condition by reducing friction and wear that causes metal fatigue. It contains a tackifier that enables the lubricant to cling to metal surfaces without increasing the viscosity.

TAC 2 operates in temperatures up to 350°F continuously. Its low-viscosity formula penetrates and thoroughly coats vital chain pin and bushing areas. It is recommended for use on drive chains, open gears, hoists, winches, pulleys, forklifts, rollers, garage doors, bushings, seals, O-rings and wire ropes.

Sound testing

G.R.A.S. Sound and Vibration has released the 45CB acoustic test fixture according to ANSI S12.42 Methods for the measurement of insertion loss of hearing protection devices in continuous or impulsive noise using microphone-in-real-ear or acoustic test fixture procedures.

The 45CB provides acoustic damping for objective measurements of high-level continuous impulsive noise and the attenuation-related insertion loss encountered with active and passive hearing protection devices, such as earplugs, earmuffs and safety helmets. The 45CB is suited for outdoor measurement environments, as well as simulated real-life conditions of test sites, vehicle interiors and aircrafts.

The 45CB fulfills requirements for real-life objective hearing protection measurements over a wide dynamic range, including self-insertion loss measurements of greater than 70 dB over a wide frequency range.

The 45CB includes the head assembly, heating control panel, and connectors for couplers and heating elements.

Navigation system

MicroStrain’s 3DM-GX3-45 is a GPS-aided inertial navigation system. The on-board Kalman filter provides position, velocity and attitude estimates. It’s ideal for applications such as vehicle tracking, camera pointing, antenna pointing, and unmanned aerial and micro-vehicle navigation.

The 3DM-GX3-45 has the ability to integrate third-party GPS and heading sensor inputs taking advantage of existing navigation components already in place. An embedded geo-magnetic model provides estimates of Earth’s magnetic field vector in the local area.
