Abstract:Emotional intelligence, or EI, is one of the most important qualities of great leaders. It is also an important quality for successful organizations. The four components of EI, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management, apply to organizations as well as individuals. The strategic planning process for EI begins with a thorough examination of the organization's emotional and business state. The next step is to create mission, vision, and value statements for the organization. Then a strategic agenda and an action plan must be formulated and put into operation.
