Fiber-optic borescope

Manufacturers of very small machined or molded medical parts and components can now inspect for burrs, surface finish and other defects inside the smallest components with the Hawkeye Pro MicroFlex fiber-optic borescopes from Gradient Lens. The optic fibers also allow the borescopes to be flexible or maintain semi-rigid flexibility, allowing them to reach into narrow, twisting paths.

The borescopes are available in lengths ranging from 6–39 in. An included C-mount direct video adapter lets users attach the scopes to a C-mount video camera and capture images for further inspection or documentation.

Saltwater data logger

Onset Computer has announced the HOBO U24-002 conductivity and salinity data logger. The U24-002 data logger reduces the cost of monitoring conductivity, salinity and temperature in ocean bays, estuaries and other saltwater environments. It features a noncontact sensor to reduce fouling-related measurement errors.

The data logger includes Onset’s HOBOware Pro software, which graphs and analyzes water salinity data. Users can enter calibration values from the beginning and end of a deployment to compensate for fouling. The software combines data sets from multiple loggers and offers exportation to MS Excel and other programs. The logger is also compatible with Onset’s HOBO Waterproof Shuttle for data retrieval and transport in wet environments.

Debris handling system

The Moyno Max-Flow annihilator grinder system is a custom engineered debris handling system that protects downstream pumps, valves and process equipment in water treatment plants and lift stations. The Max-Flow annihilator replaces bar rakes, screens and drum screen grinders.

The system contains annihilator grinders mounted side by side in a stainless steel retrieval frame in the headworks of a waste treatment system. They can be installed in inline, staggered or offset designs to accommodate a variety of channel widths. The frame can be customized.

The system includes guide rails to permit independent retrieval for each grinder. Steel panels can be inserted in place of a grinder to divert the flow to the remaining grinders during maintenance, eliminating the need for a diversion or bypass channel.

Test leads

Fluke Corp. has released the TL175 TwistGuard test leads with a manually adjustable test tip guard for use in different measurement environments. By twisting the test lead, the user can change the exposed probe tip length. The test leads feature Fluke’s WearGuard insulation for added safety.

Each test lead is covered by two layers of silicone insulation: red or black on the outside, and white on the inside. If the test leads become nicked or scuffed, white insulation is visible, providing a visual warning that the test leads should be replaced.

Screw threads are also offered at the base of the probe. This allows the user to add screw-on clips, probes and specialty tips. The threads improve measurement reliability, and the ranges of probe tips enhance productivity.

Pick-to-light system

Intelligrated has released the Real Time Solutions Trak3 xD and Trak3 xL extended display pick-to-light systems. The systems are ideal for dense-flow rack picking applications or general merchandise operations requiring dynamic slotting of a wide variety of product sizes.

The Trak3 xD extended display pick-to-light system provides end-to-end shelf coverage for a dynamic pick face. It has the ability to slot product widths ranging from 1 in. to several feet and features dual-shelf configuration for independent upper and lower shelf slotting.

In conjunction with the Trak3 xD system, the Trak3 xL, a companion device, automatically adjusts replenishment slotting based on pick face changes, dramatically increasing replenishment accuracy.

The systems provide the ability to automatically or manually slot product based on SKU velocities and physical space availability.

Meggitt Sensing Systems has announced the Endevco model 7251A series—lightweight and hermetically sealed piezoelectric accelerometers with integral electronics. The centrally located thru-bolt mounting hole of this series provides 360° cable and connector orientation. This allows the sensor to offer a flat mounting surface, even when not fully perpendicular.

The 7251A series features an annular shear piezoelectric sensing element, along with an internal hybrid signal conditioner, within a two-wire system. The system transmits a low-impedance voltage output through the same cable that supplies constant current power. Units are supplied with a 10 ft. cable, isolated mounting screw and installation wrench.
