Abstract:Good process mapping can help the comprehension and implementation of a quality management system. A good process map outlines inputs, core processes, interactions, outputs and support processes. Though similar in some respects, the process map is not a flowchart and needs to be significantly less detailed. Great article. Too often, our process maps turn into procedures and then become too large and overwhelming to use. Keep the high level in the process maps, and then use procedures/SOPs for the step-by-steps!
