Deblinding system
Russell Finex’s ultrasonic screening deblinding system is ATEX certified (a certification that addresses equipment and protective systems intended for use in or with potentially explosive atmospheres) to operate within areas designated as zone 20, 21, 22, 0, 1 and 2.
The Vibrasonic 2000 system uses a combination of ultrasonic and conventional vibration. It can be retrofitted onto new or existing vibrating separators/screeners.
The Vibrasonic 2000’s ultrasonic frequency is applied directly to the screener mesh to break down surface tension, leaving the stainless steel wires friction free. This eliminates mesh blinding and enables separation down to 20 µm while maintaining product consistency.

LEED monitoring kits
Onset Computer has released three HOBO Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) monitoring kits. The kits are designed to improve building energy performance while generating credits as specified in the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for existing buildings rating system.
The kits allow facility managers, building owners, contractors and engineers to measure and document boiler and solar hot water-heater performance, rooftop HVAC system efficiency and indoor environmental quality. The HOBO LEED monitoring kits are available in three versions.

Pin marker
Matthews Marking Products has introduced the ProPoint P31, a reciprocating pin marker for permanent industrial indent marking. Applications for the ProPoint P31 include automotive, electronic, aviation, consumer products and machine shops where a permanent mark showing product name, serial number, shift number or other information provides traceability for the life of the product.
The ProPoint P31 features a 10.4 in. color graphic user interface and prints within a 1 X 3 in. window. The pin marker is an upgraded version of the 2331 model.

Electronic sensor system
One of the challenges with brush-type direct current (DC) motors is that the brushes wear out. How long they last is determined by factors that include load, duty cycle and type of speed control used.
Bodine Electronic offers a special-order version of its 42-frame permanent magnet DC gear motors and motors featuring an electronic sensor system that monitors brush life.
The proprietary sensor system allows original equipment managers to maintain uninterrupted operation of their motors.

Knowledge management software
The International Institute for Learning has expanded the Unified Project Management Methodology (UPMM) knowledge management software to meet the needs of small and mid-sized organizations.
The UPMM tools are scalable for use in projects of varying type and size, and offer customization features that allow users to define their own project life cycle and methods.
There are three suites of tools: UPMM Enterprise Edition, UPMM Standard Edition and UPMM Professional Edition. Each suite offers project management guidelines, processes, templates for each of the inputs and outputs of the process, examples of best practices and the ability to create a project management community of practice.

Mercury oxide reference electrode
Koslow Scientific has introduced a mercury oxide reference electrode for measurements involving alkaline and fluoride solutions. The applications for this electrode include alkaline battery research and process monitoring in strong alkaline or chloride-free solutions. The electrodes can also be used in the electrochemical research industry.
The mercury oxide electrode is constructed of rugged plastic and holds a Teflon junction, making it ideal for use in corrosive metal. The electrode is supplied with a 16 in. cable and a banana plug.

Traveling measuring machine
The model LHF GMM 30.60.20 from Xspect Solutions is a traveling bridge-type measuring machine capable of measuring gears up to 3m in diameter. It can also measure large housings and components.
The machine’s design has two 3m measuring zones. One is equipped with a 1,000 mm hydrostatic rotary table that accommodates gears up to 30,000 lbs., while the other is equipped with a cast iron surface plate for traditional prismatic inspection of housings and other large components.
The LHF GMM 30.60.20 also features a rotary table with an air-bearing stage for part positioning, a laser-based scanning probe and measuring software.
