Bringing Lean To the Office
Abstract:Lean methods produce quicker results than other quality methods, and they readily apply to office work. Lean uses three principles to create more value while reducing waste and cost. A team of college students gained hands-on lean experience with two projects in the university admissions office. In both projects the students were able to identify and map the specific value stream to be improved. Processes were simplified so that time, money, and resources were saved.
