ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008: Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes

ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes is an acceptance sampling system to be used with switching rules on a continuing stream of lots for Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) specified. It provides tightened, normal, and reduced plans to be applied for attributes inspection for percent nonconforming or nonconformities per 100 units.

ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 replaces ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2003.

Both ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes” (item# T004 and T004E) and ANSI/ASQ Z1.9 “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Variables for Percent Nonconforming” (item# T009 and T009E) are to be used with a continuous supply. ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 is to be used with go/no-go data (sometimes called attribute data). ANSI/ASQ Z1.9 is to be used with measurements. Also note that Z1.9 assumes a normal distribution.
