Collective Knowledge- A Gift from Teams

Abstract: This article explains how capturing the hidden knowledge and competencies of people and the organization as a whole creates a major competitive advantage. Understanding how knowledge is generated and spread is the first step in increasing competitiveness. Developing an environment that makes it easier for knowledge transfer to occur is the second step. With these processes in place, teams can utilize the available knowledge to generate truly innovative solutions and achieve a truly competitive edge. The author provides three techniques for fostering innovation within an organization.
