A Lexicon for Lifelong Learning

Journal for Quality and Participation vol. 30 issue 4 - December 2007

Abstract: The belief that a college degree represents the culmination of one’s education is being challenged and replaced with the notion of lifelong learning. A combination of literary material and practical insight is synthesized into a set of principles that guide and support the need for lifelong learning. The lexicon goes beyond simple definition of terms, providing insight into why each term is meaningful in a variety of work and school environments.

Keywords: Education - Adult and continuing education - Career development - Learning - Definitions and glossaries
