Quality Measurement in the Healthcare Supply Chain

Quality Management Journal vol. 18 issue 4 - October 2011

Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors’ abstract.] The authors are conducting research to identify opportunities for quality improvement in the complex U.S. health care supply chain. While expert testimony indicates that it can be difficult to grasp the concept of health care supply chain measurement, a survey of health care supply chain professionals indicates that 90 percent are measuring supply chain quality in some fashion. The authors find that most of these measurements are focused on the performance, conformance, or features of the health care supply chain.
