Response Surface Methodology in Biotechnology

Abstract: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] The Quality by Design initiative in pharmaceutical development will accelerate the current trend in biotechnology to make use of the principles and methods of response surface methodology (RMS). Descriptions are given of recent RMS studies appearing in biotechnology journals, and issues in the design and analysis of cell media experiments are discussed. One of the experiments is examined in detail.
