Article Abstract

SQUID - System For Quality Information Documents was implemented to improve the timeliness, accessibility, and completeness of quality related information in the carpet staple business. The system provides a user-friendly system to create and retrieve quality information that was historically available through paper mail. Retrieval includes ad-hoc search capability based on the needs of the user. Efforts were made to reduce response time to customer problems. Tracking tools were implemented to improve follow up on critical parts of the quality systems. Results have shown the users now feel they have more complete information on a more timely basis. Response time to customer problems has been significantly improved.
