Article Abstract

(This paper was presented at the Journal of Quality Technology Session of the 28th Annual Fall Technical Conference of the Chemical and Process Industries Division of the American Society for Quality Control and the Section on Physical and Engineering Sciences of the American Statistical Association in Landon, Ontario, October 25-26, 1984.)The effects of inspection error on performance measures of a single-sampling plan are well documented. This paper considers the effects of inspection error on the operating characteristic curve, average outgoing quality, and average total inspection of a double sampling plan. These effects are examined for sampling both with and without replacement.
