Article Abstract

This article provides a basic understanding of (1) the exponential distribution underlying the life-test sampling plans; (2) the method of calculating the operating characteristic curves of the sampling plans when the life test is terminated at a pre-determined time; and (3) the effect of various maximum allowable failure rates, test times and acceptance numbers on the required sample sizes.
