Article Abstract

Industry is generally looking for a statistician whose principal function is to bring mathematical and statistical techniques to bear on physical problems with the effect of increasing efficiency in the collection and analysis of data. The author cites two areas in which the master's level statisticians will need additional training--mathematical competency and scientific knowledge.
