Article Abstract

This paper describes a technique that can be used by an organization that wishes to take the first step towards excellence by improving the quality of their products or services. The technique consists of constructing a flow chart for a job being performed, developing a list of the tasks that must be done to do the job, and identifying possible errors that could prevent the job from being done correctly. The cost and criticality of each error is estimated, and a procedure that would prevent the error from being made is developed if it can be justified.
