Article Abstract

The authors present a method of performing independent assessments of Quality Systems based in part on the Integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing Definition (IDEF) modeling system. The IDEF modeling system, as applied by the authors, is intended for and has been used in the assessment of quality and other systems for both the DOD and DOE and industry contractors.

For corporations or government agencies performing quality assurance activities under Mil-Q-9858A, ASME/ANSI NQA-a, DOT 7.10, or equivalent requirements for QA programs, it is prudent to independently reassess the program quality system in order to provide confidence that all aspects of customer requirements are being implemented and satisifed.
