The quality status of the Argentine Republic might be interesting as it shows a remarkable increase in the use of the philosophy and use of quality, when the country is undergoing one of the greatest economic crises of its history with a yearly inflation of 1,200 percent, with product recession and salary deterioration, etc.Nevertheless, and this is what is amazing, there is a reaction everywhere to know and use the powerful tool of "quality".The government, business, consumers, universities are working hard and our institution has been entitled by these groups to outline, develop, and implement quality programs. The Argentine Institute of Quality Control, which in September 1984, celebrated its 25th anniversary, has been developing the following activities:a. Giving advice on the analysis and implementation of quality systems for products of the government or private business.B. Courses of quality control for workers, supervisors, and quality control managers. Two years ago, within the Argentine Institute of Quality Control, a Counselling Committee was created with exclusively includes presidents and general managers of leading companies with the purpose of giving our Institute the guidelines and thus interest the government and other business in "quality".So far the Argentine Institute of Quality Control was dedicated in solving typical problems of the companies. But we have realized if we want to progress, we have to create a greater conscience of the meaning of quality, therefore we have to carry out an ambitious program of awareness for massive applications.Consequently, we have prepared an overall program that has been implemented in 1984.Evidently, it is a difficult task, but we have already achieved great success, therefore we rely on an enthusiastic generation, which works with "Quality for Quality".
