Article Abstract

Responding to public demand for more accountability in higher education institutions, Pennsylvania State University Berks in Reading, PA, has implemented evaluation practices that stress the importance of continuous improvement (CI). In addition, the college incorporated the plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle for all campus improvement initiatives. By taking these steps, Penn State Berks improved the value of existing academic program evaluation and has shown its commitment to expending resources on assessment activities that require students to demonstrate skills and apply the knowledge needed to be competitive in the workforce.
