Jointly with the 7th Asia Pacific Quality Organization Conference: APQO paper
When the government of Abu Dhabi established a national quality award, a survey of other quality award application processes pointed out the need for a performance assessment tool that was suitable for the initial quality efforts being pursued by many of the country's companies. In comparison to the Baldrige application, the Performance Profile requires only six hours of the management team's time and is easily scored. The considerable discussion about questions leads to valuable internal scrutiny by the participants and ultimately leads to prioritization and assignment of action items, and forming a timeline for completion. The results provide a measurable, objective view of the company's performance, a comparison to world class companies, and a performance baseline from which they can track planned improvements.
