Article Abstract

[This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]

A rating system is offered for vendor performance from the customer's perspective by objective-orientation driving. Four factors are considered: incoming inspection, performance of line reject, service quality of vendor, and product reliability. These elements are used to construct quantitative parameters employed in the vendor performance rating system. The results of a case simulation indicate that the rating system would provide manufacturers measurable benefits in vendor selection.
