Article Abstract

Quality professionals often must determine time to failure and reliability of a product from a life test that may be incomplete. A method is described that demonstrates how the Weibull parameters can be estimated when the incomplete life test is performed under overstress conditions with measurable degradation of the product during the test. This technique may be extended to find confidence bounds on the reliable lifetime of the product. Five cases illustrate the methodology.
