Article Abstract

International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee 69 (ISO TC69), Application of Statistical Methods, develops standards on statistical methods. This paper lists standards published and under development by ISO TC69. There are ten categories: statistical interpretation of data (for example, ISO 2602, estimation of mean-confidence interval); sampling procedures (ISO 2859-0, introduction to the ISO 2859 attribute sampling system); vocabulary and symbols (ISO 3534-1, probability and general statistical terms); accuracy of measurement methods and results (ISO 5725-6, use in practice of accuracy values); control charts (ISO 8258, Shewhart control charts); technical reports (ISO/TR 13425, guide for the selection of statistical methods in standardization and specification); statistical process control (WD 11462-2, catalogue of tools and techniques); bulk material (CD 11648-2, sampling of particulate materials); limits of determination (CD 11843-2, methodology - linear calibration case); and others. The standards column in Quality Engineering is a source of information on contents and application of standards.
