Innovation: The Key To a Successful Project

Six Sigma Forum Magazine vol. 4 issue 4 - August 2005

Abstract: The full potential of Six Sigma cannot be attained without innovative thinking. Effective leaders must exhibit the skills of time management, process thinking, statistical thinking, and innovative thinking if they expect to see significant improvement quickly. Six Sigma currently stresses the rigid framework of DMAIC instead of providing a framework for creative thinking. An empirical innovation methodology is presented that can be integrated into Six Sigma. The framework features eight steps to accelerate breakthrough solutions through innovative thinking.
