Six Sigma Forum News
Forum Membership Continues To Grow
A daily average of 25 to 30 new members continue to join ASQs Six Sigma Forum. More than 7,500 Six Sigma professionals have joined since the forum Web site launched last May.
About 30% of Six Sigma Forum members come from outside the United States. International members come from all over the globe, and the top five non-U.S. countries with members in the forum are India, Canada, Mexico, China and Brazil.
Forum members also represent a variety of Six Sigma experience levels. Newcomers enter their experience levels as part of the online membership application and may update their experience levels at any time.
As of the press date, slightly more than half of all members classify themselves as Six Sigma generalists. Black Belts have the next largest membership group at just over 20%. Master Black Belts and Green Belts each make up about 8% of forum members, and executives and Champions account for about 6.5% and 4.5%, respectively.
Six Sigma Forum membership is separate from ASQ membership and is free for the first year. The Six Sigma Forum Web site, www.sixsigmaforum.com, has original articles, discussion boards and a searchable database of members.
WorldPartner Program Extends to Forum
Quality organizations in five countries formed partnerships with the Six Sigma Forum to support the needs of the global community and advance the Six Sigma information network.
The five organizations are:
- Excellence Ireland, www.eiqa.com.
- PGQP Brazil, www.portalqualidade.com.
- IPACE of Argentina, www.ipace.org.ar.
- Singapore Quality Institute, www.sqi.org.sg.
- Hong Kong Society for Quality
They are all members of ASQs WorldPartner Program and have begun to promote awareness of Six Sigma and the forum. Visitors to these sites will see the forum logo, information about the forum and links to join.
Excellence Ireland and the European Organization for Quality also cooperate with ASQ in running the European Six Sigma Program. The program supplies information about Six Sigma implementations in the United States, promotes network development and provides information about training for all Six Sigma experience levels.
ASQs WorldPartner Program member organizations strive to further performance excellence on the individual and organizational level worldwide. They reach out across borders, cultures and languages to create a global information network and sustain the environment for quality.
