Manuscript Submittal Guidelines

Quality Engineering is a journal devoted to articles dealing with quality problems, how others have addressed similar situations and how to resolve them. Authors should address what the problem was, how it was resolved, and what the results were. As authors prepare papers for submission, they should orient them to tell such a story clearly. Only articles written in English are accepted. Rarely are articles longer than 16-30 manuscript pages accepted.
By submitting a paper, authors guarantee that the paper

  • Is not currently being considered by any other journal while it is under consideration by Quality Engineering
  • Will not be considered by any other journal while it is under consideration by Quality Engineering
  • Has not been previously published anywhere else

Manuscript Central allows for rapid and easy submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as reviewing and internal communication among authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform.

Guidelines: Manuscript Preparation

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and must sign an agreement for transfer of copyright to the publisher upon acceptance. Download the PDF of the form. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become property of the publisher.

A cover letter should indicate clearly that the work being submitted for publication constitutes original research and that it has not been published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Note that uploading of higher resolution images may take significantly longer; therefore authors are strongly encouraged to submit lower resolution images during the review process to streamline uploading.

We recommend submitting one or more PDF documents which contain all text, tables and figures during initial review.

Note that Scholar One Manuscript Central will automatically assign pages a running head and footer, as well as page numbers and line numbers to your manuscript.

Best online viewing results for authors and reviewers will be obtained with original files that DO NOT contain page numbers, line numbers, or any information in the manuscript header or footer.

Upon re-submission and acceptance, authors will be able to submit publication quality high resolution images as needed. Revised manuscripts should be submitted via Scholar One Manuscript Central's Author Center to ensure that they are linked to the original submission.
